Tips for better AI email prompts
Knowing how to write good prompts on MailMaestro can really help you with producing better emails. A prompt is simply the text instruction of what you want your AI email writer to draft in your email. You can think of it as how you’d instruct a personal assistant if they were to write an email on your behalf.
Although we can handle a wide range of prompts (good and bad!), there are a few best practices that will help you make the most out of MailMaestro.
Be clear and concise
Your prompts should be easy to understand and straightforward. Avoid using too much jargon or complicated language not to distract the AI. You also don’t have to write lengthy paragraphs - that’s what we’re here for!
Inform team about the all-staff meeting next Tuesday at 2pm
Share excitement on the first in-person meeting in a year, and that we have exciting company updates
Ask team to accept or decline calendar invite
Personalize your prompts
As great as MailMaestro's AI email assistant is, it can’t read your mind! Add any relevant details such as who you’re talking to, what your ask is, and any other information that will help create a more personalized output.
Invite Jess to the beach next Saturday in Barcelona
If she’s available, ask if she knows any good restaurants nearby
Tell her I am excited to hang out soon!
There’s no need to recap previous email content
If you’re using MailMaestro to respond to an email, MailMaestro is able to use details in your email chain towards your response so you don’t have to type it all out again.
Apologize to Jenny for her delayed flight
Offer $500 as compensation
There’s also a toggle button if you don’t want to use the context from the last email you’re replying to.
